REMEMBER WHEN...

I said I was going to start blogging regularly again????

Whoops. A sentiment I've expressed before still holds true -- life gets in the way!

But don't lose faith in me yet :) I just created my own Youtube channel and a tumblr page (links will be posted soon) and I'm really interested in doing some video blogging on various topics -- cooking, clothes, working out, nail polish, my journey to med school... you name it. I just don't have the time to sit down and write hugh jass posts with tons of pictures and super engaging narratives, so I think maybe ~vlogging~ will work out better for me. Stay tuned! A video will be coming soon, pinky promise. It's a new era of (fill in the blank) blonde!

Question for readers: what types of videos would you be interested in seeing me make?

I'm Still Here!

Don't worry everyone! I haven't abandoned you.

This quarter has been ridiculous and I'm hoping to getting back into a more regular blogging routine come summer. Only two finals stand between me and freedom -- for the next two weeks, that is. I'm taking a biochem class, volunteering at the medical center, and I'll be working, so I will be busy, don't get me wrong! It's just tough keeping up with blogging during the school year since I have so many more obligations. I think I did alright this year. Hopefully next school year I can make an even better go at it.

Until next time... (which WILL be soon!)

Relationships.

Hey there peeps :)

see what i did there? credit
If you celebrate Easter, I hope you had a nice holiday weekend! I went out for brunch and coffee with my dad and it was two hours well spent. We used to have a not-so-great relationship, but now we're on good terms, and he is a really funny guy to hang out with! He always has some good stories to share and yesterday he was keeping me thoroughly entertained with his accounts of dates he's been on recently. Sounds like he's "playing the field" and have a good time.

Well, speaking of relationships, sorry for a major womp womp but it's been a kinda rough week on me because I broke up with my boyfriend last Monday. :( It was so difficult because we've been together a long time and I still care about him a lot, but I think that our romantic relationship had run its course. We both really want to stay friends, but it's kinda weird right now, as you might imagine. This was my first break-up and I unfortunately decided to cope by eating enormous amounts of ice cream (I literally ate ice cream all day last Wednesday and nothing else), which may not have been The Greatest Idea Ever, but today I'm feeling good and ready to get back on track with being healthy... trying to get off a couple extra pounds I might have gained this winter :/ womp, womp. Again, apologies for being a bit of a downer.

Anyhow, I'm hoping for a better week for myself, and hopefully it gets off to a good start for you as well. Already the last week of April... WHAT?! Where is time going? I must be getting old.

The Return of the Food

Are you saddened by my lack of food bloggage as of late? I know, I know. I used to post pictures of my breakfast basically every day. But during the school year, I'm rushin' around like crazy 90% of the time, and styling a breakfast shoot doesn't really fit in with my morning routine anymore.

Here, as an apology or sorts, I give you the most amazing snack you could ever possibly imagine. You will forget that you were even mad at me.

PUMPKIN PIE YOGURT. It's not pretty, I am aware. But it is YUMMAYY as heck!

I'm probably not the first person to blog about something like this, but... if you haven't tried it yet, here's your chance!

"Recipe:" Greek yogurt, canned pumpkin, cinnamon, and agave. Mix. Consume. Experience mouth-gasm.

Now wasn't that nice of me? :)

Pumpkin is also good in many other things... hot oatmeal... cold overnight oats... smoothies... muffins... hummus. (Yep... just mix canned pumpkin into your plain hummus, store-bought or homemade.) Mix it with a box of cake mix and make a (slightly) healthier cake. Pumpkin seeds are pretty sweet too. Throw them on top of your oatmeal. Put a handful on a mixed green salad. Sprinkle them on top of your pumpkin muffins.

I'm even making a pumpkin pie on Bakery Story right now, even though it takes two whole days to prepare and I could be doing other things like making a zillion batches of brownies instead.

(And I wonder why I do poorly in school.)

Kate .... putting pumpkin in EVERYTHING since 2007.

I'm expecting my call from Libby's asking me to be in a commercial any moment now.
