Once again, it's football Saturday! Today is Ohio State's Big Ten opener against Illinois, and even though it an away game, I'm still getting all pumped up to watch. There ain't nothing like a home game though!
I started off my morning with some tooootally yummy pumpkin oats. (Note: pumpkin can be found at Whole Foods and Wal-Mart!) I actually opened the can yesterday to make an overnight oats parfait, but after drooling over Kaitlyn's breakfast in my Google Reader this morning, I knew that some hot oats were in order.
Very cheerful, no? :) I picked up several packs of scrapbook paper at Target the other day because I feel like my desk as the background isn't quite as aesthetically pleasing. I miss taking photographs in my kitchen at home where we've got nice, big windows that allow for bright, natural light. I have just one window in my dorm room (in the bedroom) but it's west-facing and doesn't get any good light this time of day.

Do sororities girls really have lots of secrets? Haha. I will be attending two more events today (and I get a break tomorrow) but I'm actually looking forward to going. I feel like Greek life gets a bad reputation because of a few select instances, but I can't say anything but positives about what I've experienced thus far. The only sorority "secret" I've uncovered is that it's not at all like some exclusive, hoity-toity club--all the girls are way nice! I've been really enjoying meeting everyone and learning about all the different chapters.
Have a happy Saturday, everyone. What are your plans for the day? Cheering on your favorite football team perhaps?

I never really had anything against greek life until my bff was initiated, and (haughtily, might I add) told me, "well, now that I'm in a sorority, there's a lot of secrets and things I can't tell you and events that you can't come to..." and she liked to rub it in. A LOT.
ReplyDeletehaha. I'm sure most sororities and their sisters aren't like that, but just that one instance kind of gave them a bad rap in my mind. But your experince doesn't sound like that at all! yay!
On an even happier note...
Woot! Go buckeyes! :)
I'm gonna make me some oatmeal!! Thanks for the tip on available pumpkin! I'll have to check our wal-mart.
ReplyDeleteI love being a Greek! I hope it works out for you!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your sorority activities! :)
ReplyDeletemmmm pumkin oats... :)
Thanks for the shout out :) Your oats look soooo tasty! I love the idea of using scrapbook paper to take pictures!
ReplyDeleteHave fun at informal! I have a few friends and some of my roommates are in sororities. They like it for the most part :)
My plans for the day were open and I ended up going to lunch, movie and shopping with some of my roommates! Tonight, I'm not sure what I'm doing but I'll end up getting dragged out by my roommates. Hah, they're crazy!
Have a good night!! Hope all your classes are going well (especially Ochem!). :)
hmm pumpkin oatmeal sounds interesting! As for sororities, I wouldn't know since I'm still in high school. I've heard both good and bad about it though, but apparently a lot of bad is just rumors. Good luck though! I'm sure you'll love it!
