My Last Day As A Teen

This morning saw the happy return of overnight oats :) It's supposed to be 60° out today (warm!!!) and I figured I'd take advantage of a non-freezing morning and enjoy a chilly breakfast.

I opened a huuuge can of pumpkin! I was hesitant to do so because 28 ounces is usually more than I can figure out how to use up in a matter of a few days, so I'm thinking I might have to do some cookie-baking this week before it goes bad. The kitchen in my dorm is not great... but it usually produces edible food :) I actually have a few friends on my floor who bake bread every Monday night; last week they made chipotle-chocolate chip bread. Sounds weird, but it was actually a good combo (think Mexican hot chocolate--mmmm!).

My life = studying. As per usual. The midterms never end!!!!!!! The good news is, after taking microbiology this morning, I only have one more midterm this quarter: o-chem exam numba two, next week Tuesday. I'm feeling nervous about it right now, only because I've pushed aside chem in the past week to devote my attention to microbiology, but I know that if I really work hard in the next week, it should be a breeze (like the last one!). Plus we have Thursday off for Veteran's day and I'm planning to study all day long. Who does that?? I remember last year we got a snow day (extremely rare occurrence at Ohio State) and I definitely spent the entire day working on homework. College ain't high school, that's for sure.

On November 8th, 1990, more than a week after her due date, my mommy finally began having contractions, and she was whisked off to the hospital by my daddy, who was very nervous about the birth of his first child and passed out while mommy was in labor. Hee hee. Many hours and one c-section later, the world was graced with my presence, all 9 pounds and 8 ounces of me :)

This time tomorrow, I will be twenty years old. Dang! I really can't believe it. Twenty just sounds so old. It's very strange that I'll be out of my teen years. It is very much the end of an era. The weird thing about birthdays is that you never quite feel any different on that very day, do you? I honestly think that "age" is more than just a number. So I'm 20. What does that really mean? 20, I suppose, is kind of a milestone birthday, even if there's nothing inherently special about it--no gained privileges like turning 16, 18, or 21. Living two whole decades though... I guess that's pretty cool. Think about how much has changed in  the world in the past twenty years. Out of curiosity I looked up the Wikipedia page on 1990 for a little world history flashback, and remember this is before Facebook, digital cameras, mp3s, Wi-fi, flat screen TVs, Macbooks, hybrid cars, and certainly the existance of blogs! Crazy. How did people live back then???! Haha ;)

I hope you all have a supremely happy, fantastic Monday, and I'll try my best to enjoy the last day of my life at a teenager!

Questions! What modern-day technology or advancement could you NOT live without? Any famous people born on your birthday? (I share my special day with Nick Lachey and Sisqo, what what!)

WHen I turned 20 I was seriously depressed about it haha so my friends bought me numerous bottles of vodka to make up for it and low and behold on my birthday I'm pretty sure I forgot it was my birthday ;) lol.
I don't think I could live without my laptop. Seriously, I live on it.

  5. Happy Birthday!!
I was a little bit nervous when I turned 20, like the years after it would just breeze by. But being in my twenties has been amazing.
Have a fantastic 20th birthday and all the great years to come :)
